Why homes sit, and how to choose between relisting, renting, or selling direct.
Figure out why
Ask your agent for feedback from showings. Was it price, condition, photos, or location? Look at what sold nearby in the same months and how it compared.
Option 1: Relist with changes
A new price, new photos, or small repairs can make a real difference. Spring is usually busier in Edmonton than late fall and winter.
Option 2: Wait or rent
If you do not need to sell, renting can cover costs. Being a landlord is real work, though.
Option 3: Sell directly
A direct buyer gives you a known price and date. You trade some price for certainty and no more showings.
Read your listing agreement
Many agreements have a holdover period. If you sell to someone who saw the house during the listing, a commission may still be owed.
